Buzz Well Media Brand

Buzz Well Media is a marketing company in Columbia, MO, established in May 2015 by Laura Flacks-Narrol. I was the first graphics intern for Buzz Well, starting in summer 2015. My first task was creating a logo for the company. The name and the use of purple were givens, and the owner wanted a “cool,” and “funky” symbol logo. 

The ideation for this design came from postmodern era design with a focus on pop art. The handrawn image and type was desired for a personal, "human" touch. The bee character was developed to illustrate the comapny’s name, and the slogan employs a pun to add to the playful brand. Other elements of promotional materials were related to bees, such as the social media flowers and imagery of beehives in other marketing materials.
